B-17 Flying Fortress 'Sally B' (G-BEDF) is the only airworthy B-17 in Europe. She is based at IWM Duxford and regularly flies at air shows, memorial flypasts and commemorative events.

When I was at the Guild of Aviation Artists Annual Exhibition at Duxford in June, I was reminded of what a spectacular sight (and sound) this aircraft is. Rather than recreate a historical WWII scene, I decided to portray her as she is now, just 'flying'. Oil on board. 24" x 16"
