Have you ever thought of commissioning an original work of art? There's no better way to obtain a totally unique pictorial representation of a subject of your own choosing. I have completed many commissions and work closely with my clients, scoping out ideas through dialogue and preliminary sketches to arrive at the best possible composition and mood before commencing work on the final painting. These sketches can be emailed to the client, making it easy to maintain the dialogue during the 'work-up' phase.
Quite often, my clients require a particular historical scenario depicted and I will conduct exhaustive research into the subject to achieve as accurate a portrayal as possible. This covers such things as technical details of both the subject and the surrounding scene, the prevalent weather, time of day and lighting conditions.
My prices start from around £550 for a framed oil painting of a relatively uncomplicated subject at 16"x12" (406mm x 305mm).
Once a subject and painting size has been determined, I will agree a price and abide by that quote. Delivery is 'at cost' and will obviously vary depending on how far the work is to be sent. Works can be supplied unframed if you wish to arrange framing yourself (e.g. to match your decor or other works that hang in the same environment) and an approximate framing cost will be deducted from the quoted price.
Feel free to contact me if you are thinking of commissioning a painting. I'm happy to discuss your ideas without obligation.
