Challenger 1 tanks from the British Army 7th Armoured Brigade advance during Operation Granby (Desert Storm) in the Gulf War of 1991 to liberate Kuwait from Iraqi forces. British Challenger tanks destroyed approximately 300 Iraqi vehicles, and achieved the longest-range tank-kill in the conflict from a distance of 3 miles.
