Pan American World Airways launched the first US jet Transatlantic passenger service on 26 October 1958. Taking off from Idlewild airport (now JFK International), New York (and after a stop at Gander, Newfoundland), the flight arrived at Paris 8 hours 41 minutes later. This painting depicts that aircraft - Boeing 707-121 N711PA descending over Paris on approach to Le Bourget. Oil on canvas. 90cm x 60cm.
